Student Name: Beth A.

Bio:  Beth plays varisty field hockey and participates in varsity cheerleading at school and in a competitive context. She has two older siblings, a sister and a brother. She is a very outspoken person, volume control isn’t something She is very good with.

Previous Knowledge / Opinions about Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Prior to the Project:  She thinks that Alice is a heartwarming and cute story that she grew up watching and being told about. She has, however, not read the story until this project, but she was told a mite of the story from my mother’s memory.

Thoughts about the Project on Day 1: I think I am going to have to work very diligently with the story and my group, and I am willing to do that. I am very excited for this new technological experience and way of learning.

Deron M.

Bio:   He runs varsity cross country and plays baseball at his highschool in Texas. Deron participates in the fall play at his school every year and is active in his community. He has a brother, sister, mom, dad, and two dogs.

Previous Knowledge / Opinions about Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Prior to the Project:  Deron has very little knowledge of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland prior to this project. Not even the Disney Movie is known to him.

Thoughts about the Project on Day 1:  I am very excited to start the Alice Project and to collaborate with my team during the extent of the project.

Student Name: Gabriella B.

Bio:  Gabriella is an engaged student, involved in both academics and school sports. She swims competitively and has attempted pole-vaulting for two years. During her free time she enjoys reading sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure novels. She writes short stories and tries to breath around the copious amounts of homework. She is also a very adamant cat person, since they don’t bark.

Previous Knowledge / Opinions about Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Prior to the Project:  As for Alice, the extent of her knowledge ends with the Disney classic. She hasn’t seen the seen the movie in over 5 years, so for her Alice will be a completely new experience. Other than random pop references to Alice and her friends alarming habit of labeling her a Cheshire cat, she is a neophyte in the trip down the rabbit hole.

Thoughts about the Project on Day 1:  She feels insecure working with computers and wonders how this new style of teaching will affect her.

Student Name: Benedikt K. (current editor)

Bio: Benedikt was born in Germany, and has been moving back and forth in between the USA and Germany for most of his life. He participates in the schools math and the computer science team, missing none of the competitions of either, taking part in both individual and team elements. Outside of school he enjoys doing math (no, really, he does) reading sci-fi, listening to trance, and experimenting with his home computer until the point where its kernel crashes once every day. At least. He currently lives in Texas with his parents and brothers.

Previous Knowledge / Opinions about Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Prior to the Project:  While he has heard of Alice in Wonderland more often than any other story, he has never actually read it, nor seen the movie by Disney. He is completely new to the book and the experience of blogging, and he currently feels quite overwhelmed.

Thoughts about the Project on Day 1:  Whether this works out or not, it will definitely be something we’ll remember for a while. Lets hope it works.
